WPO365 v27.0 is feature-packed and a must-have update!

After three months of intensive development, I am thrilled to unveil version 27.0, brimming with new features and essential updates! It introduces support for app roles, the configuration of multiple Identity Providers (IdPs) and it can be configured to gather valuable insights that aggregate various WordPress events such as logins, new users and sent emails into straightforward management dashboards.

App roles

You can now add app roles to an App registration in Microsoft Entra Admin Center and use them to dynamically assign WordPress roles to users.

Did you know that WPO365 plugins enable dynamic assignment of WordPress roles to users based on one of the following user properties:

  • App Roles
  • Azure AD groups Security / M365 / Distribution Lists
  • User Attributes E.g. department:HR
  • Domains Login / Email

Other Role Based Access (RBA) features implemented by the WPO365 plugins are:

  • Restrict access to users of specific Azure AD groups and / or domains
  • Azure AD group based dynamic redirection of a user

Multiple Identity Providers (IdPs)

Administrators can now configure WPO365 to support multiple Identity Providers (IdP). If multiple IdPs have been configured, WPO365 will – by default – render a dropdown list enumerating IdPs by their “friendly name”. A user simply picks an IdP from the list before clicking “Sign in with Microsoft”.
